KHDA lists 106 Dubai private schools with a UK curriculum, and 71 of them teach up to Year 11 or beyond, the IGCSE and GCSE years. Here they are with each school’s KHDA rating and the exams its latest inspection report names.

HOW TO READ THE LIST

Four things to know first.

The ratings are mostly from 2023-24

KHDA rates schools on six levels, from Outstanding to Very weak. 69 of the 71 ratings here come from the 2023-24 inspections, because full inspections paused in 2024-25 and 2025-26; they resume in 2026-27. The report says far more than the word.

The exams come from each inspection report

KHDA’s directory gives a school’s curriculum, not its exams. Each inspection report names the external exams the school enters students for, and we show that field as the report writes it: 65 of the 71 name IGCSE or GCSE. KHDA notes that some Dubai schools enter students for UK GCSEs and A Levels instead of, or as well as, the international versions.

Ask the school which board, subject by subject

KHDA’s reports rarely name the exam board. 49 of these schools are on Cambridge’s own school finder, which lists Cambridge schools but not what they teach, so a school not marked may still use Cambridge. The few reports that name a board sometimes name two, such as Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel.

Which schools in Dubai teach IGCSE?

KHDA lists 71 private schools with a UK curriculum that teach up to Year 11 or beyond, and 65 of them name IGCSE or GCSE in their latest KHDA inspection report. This page lists them all, by KHDA rating.

How many British curriculum schools are there in Dubai?

KHDA’s directory lists 108 of Dubai’s 229 private schools with a UK label, including two SABIS schools labelled UK/US. Leaving those two out gives 106, of which 71 teach up to Year 11 or beyond.

Which British schools in Dubai are rated Outstanding?

18 UK-curriculum schools are rated Outstanding by KHDA, 18 of the 23 Outstanding schools in Dubai. 12 of them teach up to Year 11 or beyond and open the list on this page; the others are primary schools. Most ratings date from the 2023-24 inspections.

Do British schools in Dubai use Cambridge or Edexcel?

KHDA rarely says. 49 of the 71 schools here are on Cambridge’s own school finder, and the few KHDA reports that name a board sometimes name two, such as Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel. Ask the school for its board and syllabus code in each subject; the code is on every past paper.

Are KHDA ratings up to date?

Most are from 2023-24. KHDA paused full inspections in 2024-25 and 2025-26, and visits resume in 2026-27 under a new model, so read the inspection report as well as the rating. Newer schools show “Not inspected yet”.
